2048, made worth playing.

Slide the tiles. Two of the same number merge into one worth double. Keep going until a single tile reads 2048 — with a board that tells you how much room you have left, and a hint that actually thinks.

The parts other versions leave out.

Room, not just empty space

The gauge counts free cells and the pairs still available, because a full board with matches on it is perfectly safe and an empty one with none is not. Arrows dim as directions close off, so you see a trap before it springs.

A hint that searches, not guesses

Three times a game you can ask for help. It looks three moves ahead — your move, the tile that lands, your answer to it — then rings the tile the move is really about. It points; you still play.

Progress that lasts

Every tile you have ever made stays on a trophy shelf. 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048 — each lights up the first time you reach it, and the next one along is the reason for one more game.

A board every day

One fixed board a day, the same tiles in the same order for everyone playing that day. Replay it as often as you like, and compare with a friend. Free, always.

Built to be pleasant

Four themes in light and dark. Tones generated as you play rather than shipped as audio files. Undo ten moves deep. A 5×5 board when you want more room. Full VoiceOver support, including moving tiles without swiping.

Free every day. Unlock the rest once.

Today’s board is free, always, and a new one arrives every day — no account, no time limit, nothing to dismiss. One payment of $2.49 then opens endless play on the classic board, the 5×5 board, three hints a game instead of one, and all four themes.

No subscription. No adverts. No tracking, and therefore no “Ask App Not to Track” prompt — there is nothing to ask about. Your scores stay on your phone.

Before you ask.

I cannot hear any sound

Open Settings inside the app — the gear button — and tap Test sound. It plays a tone and tells you what it can see: whether sound is switched off in the app, or the device volume is at zero. The game plays through the ringer switch, so a silenced phone will not silence it.

Where are my scores kept?

On your phone, and nowhere else. That is the cost of collecting nothing about you: deleting the app deletes them, and they do not follow you to a new device.

The daily board is yesterday’s

The board follows your phone’s own calendar day. Closing and reopening the app after midnight brings today’s.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no email address, and no network connection required to play.

I bought the unlock and changed phones

Open Settings and tap Restore purchase. The unlock is tied to your Apple Account, so it comes back without paying again.
